Before you install it
First find out what killed the original compressor. Otherwise the replacement will fail the same way. Burned windings, a weak contactor, low charge, or a restricted metering device all take out a new compressor quickly. Therefore check all three legs of the supply, confirm rotation, and verify the charge before startup. If the old compressor burned out, flush the lines and fit a new liquid line drier as well.
Note on voltage
This is a 460 V three-phase compressor. Consequently it will not drop into a 208-230 V system, even though the tonnage may look right. Always match the nameplate voltage before ordering.
