What is swaging and why would I need it?

Swaging expands the end of a copper tube so an identical-size tube slips inside it, letting you braze a joint without buying a coupling. The CT-275 includes five swage adapters for that.

What is the difference between a single and a double flare?

A single flare folds the tube wall once. A double flare folds it back on itself for a thicker, stronger sealing face used on higher-pressure and automotive lines. The CT-275 does both.

Does the CT-275 include a tube cutter?

No. It includes the flaring yoke, bar, five swage adapters and a case. For a kit with a cutter, see the CT-1226AL.

Safe use

Always de-pressurize and recover refrigerant from a system before cutting or flaring any line. Deburr and clean the tube end before flaring, and torque flare nuts to the equipment manufacturer’s published specification. Refrigerant work should be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified technician.
