Installation requirements

This system requires installation by a licensed HVAC contractor. R-454B is a mildly flammable A2L refrigerant and must be handled per manufacturer instructions and local code. Existing ductwork should be inspected and sized for the airflow this system delivers. Registering the system with MRCOOL after installation is what activates the full warranty term.

Do I need to buy the air handler separately? No. This listing is the complete system — condenser MVP-18-HP-C-230A00-O and air handler MVP-18-HP-MUAH-230A00-O together under one model number.

Is a line set included? No. Line set length depends on your installation, so it is sold separately. MRCOOL No-Vac® pre-charged line sets in 15, 25, 35 and 50 ft are shown as add-ons on this page and require no vacuum pump to commission.

Do I need an electric heat kit? Only if you want supplemental or emergency electric heat. VersaPro heat kits are available from 5 kW to 20 kW; size to your heating load and available electrical service.

Will this replace my old R-410A system? In most cases yes, but the line set and indoor coil must be replaced or properly cleaned and rated for R-454B. Your installing contractor should confirm before the changeout.
