The HCi T92-BFF-4.40 + VM000-500 is a 3/4″ FNPT 3/4 inch pressure independent control valve (PICV) supplied with a 24 V, 0-10 V fail-in-place actuator. One valve body does two jobs: it limits flow to a maximum of 4.40 GPM regardless of system pressure, and it modulates that flow from the building automation signal to control coil temperature.

Why choose a 3/4 inch pressure independent control valve

A standard control valve’s flow changes whenever the pump or other zones change the pressure across it. A 3/4 inch pressure independent control valve has a built-in differential pressure regulator, so the coil gets the same flow for the same control signal. That removes separate balancing valves, cuts commissioning time and keeps chilled and hot water coils from overflowing at part load. Typical uses are fan coils, air handler coils, chilled beams and water source heat pump loops.

How to install

1. Confirm the coil design flow is at or below 4.40 GPM and set the presetting dial.
2. Install with the flow arrow in the direction of flow, with a strainer upstream.
3. Wire the actuator to 24 VAC and a 0-10 V control signal.
4. Check differential pressure at the PT ports to confirm the valve is in its control range.
