The TUV-BTER UV light is the Diversitech Fresh-Aire UV Blue-Tube germicidal UV system with a 1-year lamp. It runs on 18–32 VAC low-voltage control power, so it wires to the 24V transformer already in most air handlers and furnaces. The 254 nm UV-C lamp shines on the evaporator coil and drain pan. As a result, it helps keep mold and biofilm off the coil and treats the air that passes through the system.

Why add a Blue-Tube UV light to an HVAC system

A wet cooling coil is a natural place for mold to grow. Over time, that growth restricts airflow, lowers efficiency and can cause musty odors. A coil-mounted UV-C lamp works around the clock to keep the coil and drain pan cleaner. In addition, it treats airborne germs as air moves through the cabinet. How to install the TUV-BTER UV light

1. Turn off and lock out power to the air handler or furnace.
2. Pick a spot where the lamp can see the coil, usually above or below it in the supply plenum or coil cabinet.
3. Cut the lamp opening, then attach the magnetic Z-bracket and mount the lamp.
4. Mount the power supply and connect it to 18–32 VAC control power, following the installation guide.
5. Connect the 6 ft. lamp cable, add the panel indicator and sticker, then restore power and confirm the lamp lights.
