This Trane 10 ton split heat pump system pairs the Trane Odyssey TWA120K3DAAE02Q outdoor heat pump with the matching TWE120K3BAAP01L air handler. It is the current R-454B replacement for the discontinued R-410A TWA120K3DAA / TWE120K3BAA system, at the same 10 ton capacity and 208-230/3/60 power.

Old model to new model

Trane replaced the R-410A TWA120K3DAA heat pump and TWE120K3BAA air handler with the R-454B TWA120K3DAAE02Q and TWE120K3BAAP01L. Capacity, voltage and the Odyssey cabinet family carry over, so this Trane 10 ton split heat pump is the direct replacement on most existing 10 ton jobs. R-454B is the low-GWP A2L refrigerant required for new split systems under the EPA AIM Act. Because R-454B equipment uses different line sizing rules and leak-detection requirements, check the line set and the current Trane installation guide.

Where a Trane 10 ton split heat pump is used

A 10 ton Odyssey split system is used where a rooftop unit is not practical: mechanical rooms, mezzanines, warehouses, churches, gyms and condo common areas. The heat pump provides both cooling and heating from one outdoor unit, and the air handler can be fitted with a Trane electric heater kit for supplemental heat.
